Frequently Asked Questions About Therapy

FAQ's

As an integrative therapist, I combine different therapeutic tools and approaches to be able to fully consider you as a whole person and your unique experience. It enables me to consider both the past and the present of my clients, and how both affect your growth and wellbeing.

Therapy is a journey of self-discovery and self-development. I provide you with a warm, compassionate and safe environment to enable you to explore your thoughts, feelings and behaviors. You will gain a better understanding of your experience, and we will identify patterns and develop strategies together, that allow you to navigate your world with more confidence.

Sessions last for 50 mins, each starting on the hour and finishing at 10 to.

I require a minimum of 72hrs notice to cancel sessions. Please note that if you are unable to cancel before, you will be charged for the session.

Yes, therapy is confidential. I will not share your information with anyone in your life be that family members or employers.

There is one exception and this is a risk to your life or others. Should you find yourself being severely suicidal during our work, we will discuss reaching out to the appropriate places, such as your GP to get you additional support; however, this would always be discussed and never happen without your knowledge.

The first step is reaching out to me on the medium most comfortable for you, you can find my contact details here

I will get in touch with you within 24hrs to arrange a free phone consultation. This usually takes around 15-20mins. It is an opportunity for us to get to know each other and for me to hear more around what is bringing you into therapy. At the end, we will find a date for a first session.

No. A first session is the opportunity for us to get to know each other, no strings attached. After the first session, we will continue with therapy until you feel you have gained as much as you can out of therapy.

If you want to end therapy, please let me know at the start of the session, so we can spend some time consciously bringing therapy to an end. If we have seen each other for a long time, it would be great if you could give me at least three sessions notice.

“We use our stories as reminders, as protection and prevention. Our core stories, such as “I can’t depend on anybody but myself,” were once adaptive storylines. They banished our helplessness and made us able and strong. But while they fit the past, they don’t necessarily fit the present—and they may be blocking the future.”
